My entry for the Seven Sins contest. In some cultures peacock represents vanity, but in other it represent pride. My work wants to show that you should be proud of who you are, proud of being unique. I chose geisha as a symbol of timeless beauty, and I had a lot of fun painting her - I was playing with a concept of a 21st century geisha, and it turned out pretty well

I used a part of peacock feather to make my painting more realistic, jewels from the ring for the earnings and the petals from the flower.

Green cloth texture for the background [link]
Vintage texture for the background [link]

Painting: I used my own hair and eyes as a reference, and a photo of my brothers friend for the mouth. I'm using Wacom Intious3 tablet + Adobe photoshop CS5.
